NDP 2025: A Guide for a Nation’s Celebration
The Singapore NDP 2025 show is happening this evening at the Padang for another unforgettable evening. Today, the 9th of August 2025, marks Singapore’s 60 years of independence. Radio presenters Sonia Chew and Joakim Gomez will be joined by actors/ hosts Ebi Shankara and Siti Khalijah in hosting this year’s grand Singapore’s 60th Jubilee event.
National Day Parade 2025 Show Program Highlights
Musical Opening
The NDP 2025 show opens with an original NDP song “Makin’ Our Way” together with a musical film directed by Singaporean singer Benjamin Kheng. The story will then bring us and the live audience into the live music and dance performances at the Padang, the iconic venue in the heart of Singapore.
Inaugural “Jump of Unity”
The Red Lions, Singapore Armed Forces, featuring their Parachute Team, and Republic of Singapore Navy’s Naval Divers will be performing a spectacular skydiving segment into the Marina Bay and The Padang respectively. Watch the Red Lions parachute teams display their signature ring free-fall formation from the H225M Hercules aircraft as they land on The Padang, while the Naval divers perform their free-fall jump from the helicopter at a height of more than 1,800 meters before landing on to the waters of Marina Bay.
Combined Band and Choir
More than 200 instrumentalists and vocalists from various schools including Tanjong Katong Secondary School and Yuhua Secondary School come together to present a combined school live band performance.
The NDP 2025 Show is divided into several segments, each imbued with a verse from Singapore’s National Anthem “Majulah Singapura.”
Act One: “Our People, Our Diversity”
Act One celebrates Singapore’s rich and harmonious diversity as a society. The official NDP 2025 theme song, “Here We Are“, opens Act One of the show. The original composition is co-written by singer-songwriter Charlie Lim and jazz pianist Chok Kerong, and performed by veteran singer Kit Chan, and vocal ensemble The Island Voices.
This is followed by a spoken, theatrical rendition of the National Anthem by Ramli Sarip, accompanied by other local stars such as Shye-Anne Brown, Pallavi and Tosh Zhang. This segment also features a vibrant musical extravaganza with hundreds of performers from institutions like Republic Polytechnic and Martial House, showcasing the rich tapestry of diversity, spanning both traditional and modern embodiments.
Act Two: “Our Future, Our Aspirations”
Act Two mainly focuses on inclusivity and kindness. Two original NDP Songs “I Will Walk With You” and “Room at the Table“, will be featured in Act Two of the NDP 2025 show. A total of 8 floats designed by artists with disabilities, 4 on the Padang and 4 on Marina Bay, will be unveiled as part of the striking visual elements of this segment. Expect the debut of the performance by the dancers from Diverse Abilities Dance Collective of Maya Dance Theatre as they take on the stage for the first time.
Act Three: “Our Resilience, Our Spirit”
Act Three focuses on the strength we get from bonding with our families and communities. Local Singer-Songwriter and Film Director Dick Lee will be performing the song “We Will Get There” while suspended in a helium-filled balloon at The Padang. A cross-venue singing performance of the NDP 2024 theme song “Not Alone“will also be held, by singing legend Rahimah Rahim at The Padang and Benjamin Kheng at Marina Bay’s new mobile floating stage.
Act Four: “Our Unity, Our Strength”
Act Four breathes the overarching theme of the NDP, “Majulah Singapura,” to life, marking the Nation’s 60th-year journey and calling Singaporeans to move forward together. Experience a magnificent synchronized drumming display performance simultaneously at the Padang and Marina Bay as the NDP 2021 theme song “The Road Ahead” is featured alongside. This Act also features a large number of performers, including 398 from the Ministry of Education, as well as performers from various groups like SMU Samba Masala, MINDS, Extraordinary People, STNY Brothers, and ITE dancers.
Nation-wide Singalong & Fireworks Display
The peak of the segment will cue the crowd to sing along NDP classics such as “Stand Up For Singapore“, “One People, One Nation“, and “We are Singapore“. The audience will also recite the Pledge and sing the National Anthem collectively. A spectacular fireworks display will conclude the finale over the Padang and Marina Bay, marking Singapore’s 60th anniversary in the spirit of SG60. Catch live screenings on Mediacorp channels 5, 8, Suria and Vasantham of the NDP 2025 from 5:30 pm on Saturday, 9 Aug 2025, as well as via large LED screens at three locations around Marina Bay: Merlion Park, Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza and the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre.
