DFS Galleria is an upscale group of departmental stores retailing in luxury goods to world travellers. The retail group operates worldwide across Asia & Asia Pacific, Australia, Oceania and the U.A.E, catering for globetrotters who indulge in duty-free shopping as they move. Purchases are made immediately without tax component, saving you the hassle of having to queue and file for VAT refund.
Currently there are 2 DFS locations in Singapore – one at Singapore Changi International Airport (within customs area & transit), the other is located downtown at Scotts Road, another upmarket shopping street off Orchard Road within the same area.
“DFS” refers to “Duty Free Shopping”. When shopping at duty free stores at Singapore Changi Airport or at off-airport duty free locations such as the DFS Galleria, shoppers get to enjoy duty free concessions that are otherwise levied on the goods. At Changi Airport, for tourists you can make purchases at the DFS located at the departure hall. You may depart off with your purchases without using or consuming them at the airport. Alternatively, you may also opt to shop at the DFS at Scotts Road during your stay in Singapore, and arrangement to deliver your merchandise to your departure gate at the airport to you before you depart Singapore can be made.
For Singaporeans, simply make your purchases at the arrival hall upon landing, and take your purchases home.
