The Singapore Night Festival (SNF) marks its 16th edition this year, painting the scenes of the Bras Basah and Bugis areas to light once again. The theme of the annual Singapore nocturnal fest is “Island Nights”, which aims to tell the story of Singapore’s island culture and heritage. A number of exciting festival highlights await at the Bras Basah Bugis (BBB) night festival Singapore from 22 August to 6 September 2025, spanning over three unforgettable weekends of light, art, and culture. The SNF 2025 event highlights include over 80 immersive, interactive as well as multi-sensory experiences.

Singapore Night Festival 2025 Core Visual Features
Singapore Night Festival 2025 is transforming the Arts, Heritage & Design district into a stunning outdoor gallery with spectacular light art installations and large-scale projection mapping.
Immersive Light Art Installations
Six “Night Lights” installations by talented local and regional artists will be exhibited throughout the culturally-rich precinct, each telling a unique and fascinating story of the island of Singapore.
CYBERSWORDFISH V2.0: Drop by Plaza Singapura to be astounded by the striking 6-meter-tall sculpture, “The Attack of the Swordfish”. Yang Derong, Singaporean artist, crafted the futuristic re-imagination of the local folklore of Bukit Merah, entirely from electronic waste. The sculpture brilliantly fuses Singapore’s mythological history with AI technological elements in an environmental sustainability theme.
Waves of Time: Next, don’t forget to make a trip to Bugis+ to witness a spectacular showcase by glass neon artist Maegzter (Megan Foo). Her stunning piece uses vibrant neon tubing to create a captivating wave motif, honouring Singapore’s enduring maritime history. This is the perfect spot for your next Instagram post!
Bugis Town for Bugis Night Lights
In addition, for the retro-tech enthusiasts, consider joining the Bugis Night Lights Singapore’s JD Run. The night time event features a fun run with neon lights and a glowing JD-themed cityscape, and a retro-futuristic themed festival village traced back to maritime roots. Event dates: 11 Aug to 06 Sep 10am – 10pm.
Jiwa Laut: Lastly, along Armenian Street, expect gleaming crab sculptures created by artists Aw Boon Xin and Koh Kai Ting. The name, which translates to “soul of the sea,” is a beautiful homage to the nation’s coastal heritage, bringing the spirit of the ocean right into the city’s heart. It will be a truly poetic sight.
Projection Mapping
Expect the facades of iconic heritage buildings to serve as dynamic canvases for immersive visual storytelling.
- “MOSAIC” at the National Museum of Singapore: The museum’s historic facade will be reanimated by “MOSAIC,” taking viewers on an epic 10-min journey through time and space, exploring themes of astronomy and navigation. The artwork incorporates Kebaya and Batik-inspired designs, reflecting the rich aspects of the region’s history and epic voyages.
- Projections at CHIJMES: The majestic facade of CHIJMES awakens as a luminous canvas, bathed in the ethereal glow of projection art. As these animations unfold diverse stories and epic sagas of Singapore’s bustling maritime heritage, the light and colours transform the hallowed grounds into a breathtaking gallery.
- Paradise Island at Armenian Street: Catch the artworks and design projections inspired by the Peranakan Museum’s own objects and motifs as the installations bring the unique visual language of Peranakan culture to life.
Singapore Night Festival Live Performances & Interactive Experiences
Beyond just a feast for your eyes, the festival is a nexus for engaging experiences.
- “Sky Castle” by ENESS: Located at Cathay Green, “Sky Castle” is an interactive light and sound installation by Australian studio ENESS. The piece features vibrant, inflatable arches that respond to visitors’ movements. As you move through the installation, the arches trigger a symphony of colors and sounds, creating a magical experience for all ages.
- “Kampong Chill” by Sheryo and Yok: “Kampong Chill” is a tranquil pavilion at Capitol Singapore offering a peaceful escape from the festival’s energy. The space is themed around island life, accompanied by live acoustic music and carnival games for a relaxing and fun atmosphere.
- Roving Street Performers: A variety of walkabout entertainment takes place along Armenian Street. Fire dancers, illuminated LED stilt walkers, and energetic percussion groups continue to keep visitors’ spirits high throughout the night.

Admission Charges & Age Limit
Most of the festival’s events are free and open to all, but here are some ticketed attractions you should take note of:
- “Sky Castle”: Entry fee is S$5 per person. Children aged 6 and under can enter for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
- Specific ticketed zones of some outdoor venues, guided tours & workshops, main permanent or special exhibitions of museums, etc, may require separate paid tickets.
